Young Voices Event - 23rd May 2019

On the 23rd May 2019, the Samworth Foundation hosted the first meeting of the Young Voices portfolio in London.  Grantees from six organisations came together for the first time to meet, network and share ideas on the opportunities for the Young Voices fund over the next three years, and in particular feed into the reporting and evaluation framework of the fund.

The learning intentions of the Young Voices fund were explicit from the outset. The aim of the learning element of the fund is to:

  • be innovative and flexible in our approach to reporting & evaluation
  • work with the portfolio to agree what the reporting framework should be
  • measure the outcomes of each organisation and the distance travelled
  • understand what the value is in taking a portfolio approach
  • test to see if there are universal successes and barriers to adopting participatory practices
  • test if adopting participatory practices leads to improved outcomes for young people

“It was great to be in a room full of people with similar approaches in the field of sexual violence all working with a funder who agrees”
